Our SEQ Facility

Home to the Greyhound Adoption Program in South East Queensland is a 20 acre purpose built facility at Churchable.  The facility is home to a maximum of 60 retired greyhounds, with 53 indoor heated and air-conditioned kennels and 14 covered outdoor runs, a fully equipped veterinary clinic, medical block and quarantine kennels. The facility is staffed 7 days a week with an onsite manager, 5 full-time staff and a mix of part-time and casual kennel attendants.

The learning space offers the greyhounds the opportunity to have positive experiences with the day-to-day challenges of transitioning to pet life. Our sensory garden offers the greyhound’s exposure to stairs and a mix of different obstacles. Large outdoor runs allow our GAP greyhounds to practise their daily zoomies.

The southeast program accepts up to 13 dogs per fortnight from the racing industry where they spend 14 days in quarantine care, an average of 2 weeks in the GAP behaviour assessment, followed by de-sexing with a 2 week recovery period, before being made available for adoption.
