Cairo, the Delta Therapy Greyhound

“Hello! My name is Cairo. I used to be called Cheeky, but my mum (Nishma) didn’t realise how much I was until I already had my new name 😂. The people that adopted me, changed my future. Now I help others. I never steal anyone’s morning tea either, even when my nose twitch gives away that I really want to! My mum is extremely proud of me and wants the world to know that I’m a very good boy! Lucky my face is covered with fur so you can’t see I’m blushing.”

Therapy dogs, like Cairo, can bring immense comfort and joy to residents in nursing and retirement homes. Their gentle presence helps reduce stress, anxiety, and feelings of loneliness, while encouraging social interaction and creating moments of happiness.
Spending time with a therapy dog can also spark fond memories, promote relaxation, and even support physical wellbeing through gentle petting or walks. Most importantly, therapy dogs offer unconditional love and companionship, brightening the day for everyone they meet.
