The Great Global Greyhound Walk is a worldwide event held annually to celebrate and promote greyhounds and other sighthound breeds as wonderful pets. On Sunday 28 September, globally, thousands of greyhound owners and enthusiasts unite to walk their hounds in local communities, creating visibility, encouraging adoption, and fostering a sense of global unity.

The event aims to raise awareness about retired racing greyhounds in need of homes, while offering a fun and inclusive social outing for the dogs and their owners.

2024 saw 13,383 sighthounds globally participate in 42 Countries (up from 11,818 in 2023).

GAP QLD is hosting Brisbane and Townsville walks as we join with other walk events happening throughout the world.

On arrival: Please check in with one of our friendly GAP team members so your greyhound can be counted towards the global sighthound tally.
