Ernie is living in foster care and ready for adoption.

Ernie is a gentle, sensitive boy currently living in foster care with his greyhound friend Zala (also available for adoption – photos of them shown below). They could happily find a home together if you’re looking for a ready-made pair, but Ernie’s main wish is to find a calm and loving family who understands his sensitive nature.

This affectionate boy needs a patient owner who can help him continue to build his confidence. He thrives with the support of another calm canine companion, big or small, so he’ll need a furry friend in his new home.

Ernie enjoys his daily walks and is improving all the time. Sometimes he gets a little startled, but with reassurance from his humans and encouragement from his doggie pal, he finds his confidence and carries on. Because of this, he’d do best in a quieter neighbourhood where things are less overwhelming.

He would be happiest in a townhouse or house with a yard, and ideally without stairs being his only access. Ernie is fine being left alone for work hours, as long as he has a doggy friend by his side. He’s also potentially cat-friendly (still untested).
