Host a Hound program is back!

Are you interested in hosting a GAP greyhound for National Greyhound Adoption Month?

Applications are NOW OPEN to host a GAP greyhound guest in celebration of National Greyhound Adoption Month. Let us know if you would love to welcome a GAP greyhound guest into your family from Saturday 28 March through to end of Easter (or longer).

Applications close on Sunday 15 March.

Your GAP greyhound guest will be matched to your family and be available for pick up at our GAP Open Day at Churchable.

Before submitting your expression of interest, please note the following terms and conditions

1. GAP will provide the food, bedding, basics and veterinary care while the greyhound is being fostered.
2. A suitable greyhound may not be available for your family's situation.
3. Cat-friendly greyhounds are not available for this program.
4. To help set everyone up for success, we’re currently prioritising homes without another dog, unless they already have a greyhound.
5. South-East Queensland region only.
6. We would love people who are available between Saturday 28 March and at least for 4 weeks after.
7. Greyhounds to be returned to our Churchable kennels - unless you decide to adopt! Alternative drop-off location and date can be discussed with the GAP Team upon application.
8. For families with additional dogs, you will be required to bring them to the meet and greet at our Churchable kennels before accepting your GAP greyhound guest.
9. Email us your fun greyhound’s vacation photos and videos to GAPTeam@qric.qld.gov.au or tag us on our socials @GAPQld.
