Hound for the Holidays: Host a GAP Greyhound for Christmas

Are you interested in hosting a GAP greyhound for Christmas?

Applications are NOW OPEN to host a GAP greyhound guest over the Christmas period.

Let us know if you would love to welcome a GAP greyhound guest into your family from 16 November 2024 to 6 January 2025.

Applications close on 10 November 2024.

Your GAP greyhound guest will be matched to your family and be available for pick up at or before our Homeward Hounds event in Brisbane on Saturday 16 November.

Homeward Hounds event details:

Date: Saturday 16 November
Time: 9am – 12pm
Location: Albion Park Harness Racing Club, Yulestar Street, Albion, Queensland 4010

Before submitting your expression of interest, please note the following terms and conditions

  1. GAP will provide the food, bedding, basics and veterinary care while the greyhound is being fostered for Christmas.
  2. A suitable greyhound may not be available for your family’s situation.
  3. Cat-friendly greyhounds are not available for this program.
  4. South-East Queensland region only.
  5. We would love people who are available between 16 November 2024 and 6 January 2025.
  6. We would love our greyhounds to be back at our Churchable kennels by 6 January 2025 – unless you decide to adopt! Alternative drop-off location and date can be discussed with the GAP Team upon application.
  7. If you have other dogs, you will be required to bring them to Homeward Hounds or the GAP kennels for a meet and greet before accepting your GAP greyhound guest.
